Appraisals

As members of the Certified Appraisers Guild of America, CDG Heavy Equipment Sales provides written appraisals for purchase, refinance, sales and any need involving values for our area of expertise.

The Certified Appraisers Guild of America is a professional accrediting organization providing certification of personal property appraisers. With members in 49 states, six Canadian provinces, and England, the Certified Appraisers Guild of America is North America's number one personal property appraisal organization. Each member is required to attend professional training and pass a comprehensive examination before becoming certified.

CDG Heavy Equipment Sales provides qualified specialists in major areas of heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and machinery. We continually update our specialized knowledge to keep pace with a fluctuating market.

The rates for appraisals are based on time spent and the scope of the appraisal, not on a percentage of the property's value.

Types of Appraisals:

Market Value

A Fair Market Value Appraisal is defined as a price at which a "willing buyer and a willing seller" would agree to complete a sale. This type of appraisal is used for estate tax, estate planning, charitable contribution, sales, and other informational purposes.

Replacement Value

The replacement value is what it would cost to replace property with property of similar origin, age, quality, condition, or provenance. This type of appraisal is typically provided for insurance purposes. An insurance industry rule of thumb is that appraisals should be updated at least every three years.

Liquidation Value

The liquidation value is the value given to property that is sold or changes ownership under other than ideal conditions such as bankruptcy or forced sale.
